Actions following investigations into maternity and neonatal services

NHS England has written to trust and system leaders following the publication of Baroness Amos’ national investigation and Donna Ockenden’s review into maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. Together, these reports provide a clear and compelling account of where care has not been good enough, where services must improve, and what needs to change so women, babies and families receive consistently safe, compassionate and high-quality care. This letter sets out a plan to improve maternity and neonatal services, bringing together actions from both reviews that require an immediate response.
