Afghan relocations, assistance and resettlement

Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) are reminded to work with local authorities to identify and support the healthcare needs of people relocating under the Afghan Relocation programmes (ARAP and ACRS). This includes arranging the recommended health screen for new arrivals. ICBs can claim funding directly from the Home Office for the first year of healthcare for those in settled accommodation. The Ministry of Defence is currently relocating around 2,800 people granted ARAP status from Pakistan, providing temporary accommodation support at MoD sites. While initial healthcare needs will be supported here, ICBs subsequently receiving these new arrivals to settled accommodation should provide the recommended health screen using Home Office funding.
