Assessing the neighbourhood estate
Recent guidance on neighbourhoods includes the requirement to explore the use of neighbourhood buildings across all partners, including local government, following on from integrated care board estate strategy work. PCC supports areas to undertake this work. For example, a primary care network (PCN) in the north east did not have enough space to make the most effective use of the additional role recruitment scheme (ARRS) staff. We assessed the way in which the PCN was using its own estate. We looked wider, making contact with the local district council, Community Health Partnerships, NHS Property Services and local voluntary organisations to identify options for the PCN not only to address its initial concerns, but also to build the integrated neighbourhood team. We put together a report including costed options as well as wider support to look at alternative operating models and a project initiation document (PID) template to use when applying for additional funding.
