NHS England’s updated virtual wards guidance includes chronic obstructive pulmonary disease guidance and reflects current best practice in respiratory infections. It details the minimum requirements for the care of people with acute respiratory infection including exacerbations of respiratory conditions and hospital at home. It supports integrated care board led implementation and delivery to expand virtual ward capacity for people with acute respiratory condition care needs.
