Children’s and young people’s mental health services
This report finds demand for children’s mental health services continues to soar, outstripping system capacity and investment, with referrals almost doubling since 2018-19.The analysis shows that demand is driven in part by increasing referrals of children for suspected autism and neurodevelopmental conditions, and that these children were most likely to face some of the longest waits for help.
