Is your leadership team ready?

The NHS is undergoing one of its most significant structural transformations in recent years with a fundamental shift in how healthcare services will be delivered. Leadership teams in GP practices, primary care networks (PCNs) and federations need to work with confidence, a clear direction and agency to work with other partners, as well as managing their own organisation. PCC recently supported a PCN leadership team. The programme of support was designed to increase self-awareness, self-confidence, and confidence as a leadership group. There was discussion around the leadership team strengths, roles and responsibilities which helped build even stronger relationships and included group learning around preferred communication styles. A follow up team development session looked at how to apply the learning and developed an action plan for the team to look at decision making and improved efficiency.  The greater confidence that resulted improved the reported quality of work-life balance.  If you would like to discuss how we can work with your leadership team, contact helen.ellis@pcc.nhs.uk
