Learning disability week

This week is Learning disability week (17-23 June).  The theme is about ensuring that people with a learning disability are being seen, heard and valued. Across the NHS people with lived experience are employed in many different roles including to help develop and deliver policy. Jodie Williams, NHS England’s learning disability and autism programme network manager, talks about how her role supports her to feel seen heard and valued. NHS England will be sharing good practice and resources to support NHS teams to help people with a learning disability to live longer, happier healthier lives.

Have a discussion

Help keep the conversation going between meetings by creating a forum to hold discussions with your members. It’s an easy way to manage and communicate with members.

Create a network to share documents, knowledge and best practice with your colleagues. Set up a network to keep in touch with other people in your organisation or with shared interest groups across organisational boundaries.
