Make the most of your space in your GP practices

With the NHS continuing to shift care closer to home, general practice premises need to support increasingly flexible ways of working, multidisciplinary teams and growing patient demand. Recent discussions across NHS England have also highlighted the importance of understanding how existing primary care estate is being used and whether opportunities exist to maximise capacity. PCC’s space optimisation review helps practices make the best use of their available space while recognising the challenges many face, with ageing buildings, workforce growth and limited accommodation. Our reviews assess current space utilisation, room scheduling, workforce requirements, hybrid working arrangements and opportunities for multi-functional use of space.
