As outlined in NHS England’s 10 Point Plan for maternity and neonatal services, all trusts must commit to delivering safe and effective maternity triage. Within three months, each trust should complete a board-level audit to identify any gaps and ensure services are consistently safe, responsive and appropriately resourced. This national maternity triage specification will support local services in achieving this urgent action.
