Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service

NHS England has published a letter on the Network Contract Directed Enhanced Service (DES) from April 2026.

In addition, the Network Contract Directed ES: Contract specification 2026/27 – PCN requirements and entitlements document sets out:

  • how commissioners must offer to primary medical services contractors the opportunity to participate in the Network Contract DES
  • the eligibility requirements and process for primary medical services contractors to participate in the Network Contract DES; and
  • in relation to the Network Contract DES, the rights and obligations of:
  • primary medical services contractors that participate
  • the PCNs of which they are members
  • commissioners
