Newborn hearing screening follow-up

GPs play an important role in the newborn hearing screening programme (NHSP) targeted follow-up pathway, supporting in the care of babies and children at risk of hearing loss and their engagement with referrals and follow-up recommendations. NHS England is seeking feedback on proposed changes to improve the consistency, equity and sustainability of services. Read the recommendation paper and respond to the stakeholder consultation before the deadline on 18 December 2026.
