RSV vaccination programme expansion

The Government has accepted the JCVI’s advice to expand the eligibility criteria for the older adult RSV vaccination programme from 1 September 2026 to include adults aged 65- 74 years in the following at risk groups

  • Chronic respiratory disease
  • Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment.

NHS England and UK Health Security Agency have published a letter outlining the upcoming changes for those responsible for commissioning and operationally delivering the programme.  The Green Book chapter has also been updated to reflect this forthcoming change.
