Securing our healthy future
This paper describes the importance of prioritising child health in political decision-making. It outlines ten key actions for the government. These include creating a cabinet-level minister for children and young people and preventive measures in childhood to achieve healthy weight, enhance oral health, improve low vaccination uptake, implement clean air policies and support child mental health services. The paper was written by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the Faculty of Public Health to support government engagement on putting children back on the policy agenda.
