Waiting lists for autism and ADHD assessments

This analysis reveals what is happening to referrals for autism assessments and prescriptions for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) medication in England, and looks at what might lie behind any recent changes. It finds that since 2019 there has been a five-fold rise in people waiting to see an autism specialist, and a 51% increase in the number of patients prescribed medication for ADHD.
