How to support your Type 1 diabetes child or young person to undertake safe and effective exercise.

Regular activity is a great part of children’s lives and this event will help you to plan for and support their diabetes when exercising. This one-day online course will arm you with the tools and techniques required to help manage glucose around exercise. Book your place and benefit from:

  • Hormone and metabolic responses to exercise in health and disease explained
  • Keeping safe with exercise: focusing on finger and continuous glucose monitors
  • Basic insulin changes to improve glucose control around exercise
  • What changes can be made to the insulin regime to improve control before, during and after exercise
  • Exercise setting for your pump / closed loop system and how to use these settings for exercise
  • Mastering dietary intake to improve glucose control around exercise
  • Using exercise to control glucose around exercise
