This educational online forum will explore current challenges and best practice approaches in DKA management. Key learning outcomes include:

  • Understanding the pathophysiology of DKA
  • Recognising the clinical presentation of DKA and making an accurate diagnosis
  • Identifying and treating precipitating factors to prevent complications
  • Improving the management of Diabetic Ketoacidosis
  • Spotting early signs and symptoms of hyperglycaemia and DKA
  • Implementing effective DKA management protocols
  • Exploring education requirements for people with different types of diabetes
  • Applying education, behaviour change and communication strategies to improve patient outcomes
  • Managing recurrent DKA, supporting high-risk patients and addressing the needs of insulin pump users
