Primary care medical contracts – an introduction

Integrated care boards need to grow their knowledge and skills to effectively commission primary care services. This course introduces commissioners to the main areas of primary medical care contracts (GMS, PMS and APMS) that they need to understand.
The course is designed to give an introduction to primary medical care commissioning and is therefore well suited to commissioners who are new to their role or those looking to refresh their knowledge.
The half day online session familiarises commissioners with primary medical contracts and will cover:
- contract types,
- who can hold them,
- services, including PCNs
- patient lists,
- practice areas,
- finance
There will be opportunity for questions and answers and to test the newly gained knowledge throughout the session.
